Baby Luke

Oh you guys, can we please take a minute to talk about how cute big siblings are with their newborn baby brother or sister.  Yes, I will be totally honest that when parents e-mail me saying they would like to get some photographs done with their 1 week old and 2 year old a slight wave of panic runs through my body.  Attempting to get a 2 year old to sit still can be exhausting in itself, but add a newborn baby to their lap and who knows what will happen!  But when it goes right, it is so good! Thankfully, I have met some pretty amazing big siblings these past few months and they are willing to love on their new baby sibling for at least a few moments.

Graham was such a rock star big brother during our time together.  I first asked him if he might want to hold baby Luke and he answered with a very direct and very polite, no thank you.  Oh no, I thought.  As we talked to Graham about how important his job is as a big brother, he slowly decided that he was up for the task.  He held his brother, laid with him on the floor and kept placing his little hand right on Luke's head.  These two are certainly going to be lucky to have each other.

The interaction between big and little brother was so sweet, and I feel so thankful I was able to capture it.  Welcome to the world, little brother Luke!

Kaci's Portraits

Kaci and I met randomly at a Red Wings game this past winter when she and her husband asked Ted and me the best place to grab a post game beer.  Instant friends, and we have stayed in touch since.  I was so excited to have a chance to see Kaci when she let me know she would like to get some portraits done for her new career in real estate.  Portraits are quickly becoming some of my favorite shoots. I love chatting with the clients and looking for backgrounds and poses that will help them tell their story.  We photographed Kaci in downtown Ferndale and I love how the images turned out. Best of luck with the new career path, Kaci!

Baby Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald stopped by the studio a few weeks after he was born for his newborn pictures.  While we thought he might just decide to take a little nap, this guy powered through it and stayed awake for his whole shoot.  Even though he was awake, Fitz didn't make a peep until the very last setup where he let us know that he was certainly done with his shoot!  Ted and I attended college with both of his parents and it was too sweet to see them growing and thriving in their new roles as mom and dad.  Congratulations,  to your growing family!

Beachwalk Creative Design Company

Shelley stopped by a few weeks back so I could snap images for her new website.  She is the creative genius that helped bring my new brand and website design to life, and she is ridiculously talented.  If you want to check out some of her work you can find it here. Shelley had some awesome ideas and it was so fun to play around and capture pictures that really show her personality.  I hope the images help her clients get to know her better and bring her brand to life.  Thanks for everything Shelley, you're a rockstar!

Charlotte turns 1

Charlotte stopped by my home studio as part of her first birthday celebration and it was so great to see her and her family.  She was such a rockstar during her session.  I couldn't get over how focused she was even with all the distractions (I mean we had balloons!)  And when a photoshoot involves an outfit change into a tutu- well then, all is right in the world.  Happy first birthday to you, Charlotte!
